Steve Irwin is a famous Australian TV personality due to his antics featuring crocodiles and reptiles on his The Crocodile Hunter show.
Steve Irwin was born to parents Bob and Lyn Irwin. He has an Irish descent from his father side but he grew up in Queensland Australia where his parents opened a park named ‘Beerwah Reptile and Fauna Park’. As a child, he had already shown much love to animals in wildlife. Her mother would nurse injured and orphaned animals and send them back to the wild. The park has a diverse inhabitant from mammals to birds and reptiles. Originally a 2-acre park, it was expanded to 4-acre and renamed to ‘Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park’.
In 1991, Steve took over the management of the small wildlife park and met an American tourist, Terri Raines, who he married in 1992. They had two children, Bindi and Robert, who are also animal lovers by heart.
Before his death in September 6, 2006, he asked Terri to continue taking care of the zoo if anything ever happened to him. Steve died by a stingray’s barb to the heart while snorkeling in the Great Barrier reef.
